Luigi Zanini arrived in Ticino in 1957, full of hopes and dreams. Together with his wife Liliana, in 1964 he began his adventure in the wine industry by buying the Cantina Neuroni in Capolago. He observed the vast, sweeping panorama of Italian winemaking and identified the most important wines in terms of quality to distribute in Switzerland. He personally visited and selected the most prestigious wineries and vineyards, establishments whose production was exclusively bottled by the winemaker, with wines that had consistently demonstrated a high, constant quality level. In this way he laid the foundation of what was to become “L’Aristocrazia dei Vini Italiani in Svizzera”.
